Reading Habits Book Tag

Today I’m participating in the Reading Habits Book Tag.
This tag was originally created by TheBookJazz.

1 – Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

If I’m home I normally find myself reading on the loveseat with my feet up and a blanket over my legs. I’ve been in this position so many times that the cushions are basically form fitting for me at this point.

2 – Bookmark or random piece of paper?

It depends. I’ve been trying to get better about using all the bookmarks that I have in my house though.

3 – Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

I prefer to try to stop reading at the end of a chapter but if that is not possible I do my best to find a good stopping point at the end of a paragraph.

4 – Do you eat or drink while reading?

I usually have a cup of coffee or tea near by me when I’m reading.

5 – Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Occasionally but if I really want to focus on the book I’m reading then I don’t have anything on in the background.

6 – One book at a time or several at once?

It depends. I’ve been known to read up to three books at a time but, if one book has my attention then usually that is the only book that I am reading.

7 – Reading at home or everywhere?

If I have a book, I can read about anywhere. In fact when I was in high school and had to walk laps around the swimming pool, I used to be able to read while I was walking which always amazed people because they thought I would fall into the pool.

8 – Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently in my head but I have been known to murmur the words aloud from time to time

9 – Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I try not to but if I’m uncertain if a book is going to work for me I will skip ahead a little bit to see if it gets better.

10 – Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I do my best to try and keep all the spines intact. Broken spines often look messy to me and I prefer a cleaner look when it comes to my books.

11 – Do you write in your books?

If it was a text book then yes but other wise I very rarely write in my books. If I need to remember something I’ll put a paper tab on it.
