That Wedding by Jillian Dodd continues the small town friendship of Jadyn (JJ), Phillip, and Danny from That Boy. In this follow up, Jadyn and Phillip are planning their wedding; and what should be the happiest time in her life quickly turns into a nightmare. There are so many decisions to make, so many choices, and so many things that need to be addressed. Will they actually make it down the aisle?
That Wedding is written in JJ’s point of view, and let me tell you JJ and I did not see eye to eye during alot of this book. Honestly, I wanted to shake her due to some of her behaviors. Yet towards the end I understood why she had acted the way that she had. There were things that had happened when she was younger that she never fully dealt with; and having to plan her dream wedding to dream guy and attend pre-wedding counseling has a way of bringing that all to the forefront where she must deal with it or deal with completely ruining her life.
Phillip is such a sweetheart in this book. He stands by JJ through thick and thing just like he always does and proves why he is the man that she should be marrying. I just adore him; and loved the way that JJ described him and the way she loved him and that he loved her. Danny remains a bit of a playboy but, he has settled down in his own marriage and is expecting his first child. He remains a constant in both JJ and Phillip’s lives and is the person they each count on when they can’t count on each other.
That Wedding really is a continuation of the growth of all three of these characters. It was an easy read on my Kindle Unlimited and was filled with sexy banter, witty come backs, and strong small town moments. I have such a love for small town moments especially when it comes to those that are shared with best friends and their families. I looked forward to see what would happen next for JJ, Phillip, and Danny in the next installment of this series That Baby.
