May 2021 Recap | June TBR 2021

We have officially reached the halfway point for 2021! Part of me is still waiting to catch up from last year. May was an interesting month. Let’s recap…

Personal Review:
~>I continued with therapy this month. It has been helpful. After last session, I’ve started writing a daily therapy review with any concerns that I experienced during the day. I’m hopeful that this will help my therapist and I center in on exactly where my mental health concerns are and where improvements can be made.
~>I had another job interview this month. Unfortunately, it did not result in hiring. Also unfortunately, I wasn’t hired for the job that I interviewed with last month. This has honestly become a bit of a stressful process but, I’m trying my best to keep my head up and move forward.
~>I did a home sleep study to test for sleep apnea. It was always thought that my dad had sleep apnea but, he was never formally diagnosed. With the difficulty I’ve been having sleeping lately, my doctor wanted me to see a specialist to rule it out. The home sleep study did not show any signs of sleep apnea but, I will be doing an in person study to fully rule anything out soon.
~>At the end of this month, we made the decision to foster a 6 1/2 week old kitten with the possibility of adoption if all goes well. So far things are going alright. We’ve started calling her Bootsie and Simon has made a new friend and playmate while Belle is unhappy and hissing at her. Honestly, I expected Belle’s reaction so I’m just taking one day at a time.

Reading Review:
I read 21 books in May – 9 of which were from my May TBR. Not bad if I do say so myself! And I got up to 50% reviewed on Netgalley too. Take Me Home Tonight The Playboy Prince and the Nanny Act Your Age, Eve Brown The Crown Prince’s Bride Teddy Spenser Isn’t Looking For Love Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry A Woman of No Importance Ink Rain Tweet Cute There I Go Again Should’ve Said No Home At Last Boyfriend Material The 5 Love Languages Hang The Moon Float Plan The Voting Booth Still Alice Miss Match All The Bright Places The Audacity of Sara Grayson

Television Review:
I really didn’t watch very much new television this month. I’m slowly finishing up The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I’m very disappointed that Rebel was canceled on ABC already. I dominated my guesses on The Masked Singer this season and already can’t wait for the next one. Shane and I have been continuing to watch Eureka, Double Dare, and MacGyver (original) together. If you haven’t seen Eureka before, I highly recommend it. It’s a mix of action, comedy, drama with a touch of sci-fi too. Very addictive!

June TBR: Live Your Life This Poison Heart I Kissed A Girl Rescue Me The Girl Least Likely Satisfaction Guaranteed Black Dove, White Raven Second Chance Crush The Unforgettable Hero Black Tie Optional Pug Actually

There will likely be more added to this list. As it is Pride Month, I would love to add some more LGBTQ reads into my selection so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I’m also still planning on continuing to work through my Netgalley backlist – and am looking into finishing some of the series/companion novels that I have started. This should be fun! I look forward to seeing what June brings for all of us.
