It’s hard to believe it’s time for another monthly recap. June just flew by for me. Let’s recap…
~>The month started off with a fun girls weekend with the two Sarah’s in my life. You may be familiar with one of them she’s @coveredinpaint7 on Twitter and her Etsy shop Flannel & Antlers. It was just so good to see them again after over a year, catch up, eat food, drink alcohol, play games, laugh, and shop. There was so much laughter. I just love those ladies and am so glad that they are in my life. We’ve been through alot together and we’re still standing tall.
~>I swear every month I’m writing about one of my cats being ill. This time around it was Simon. His feline cystitis came around again, and this time it resulted in him having to stay overnight at the vets. Thankfully with a course of antibiotics and change in diet, he is doing much better. And he is continuing to do so well with our kitten Bootsie.
~>I had another job interview this month. Unfortunately, it did not result in hiring. I have also applied to several positions with no call back. This has honestly become a bit of a stressful process but, I’m trying my best to keep my head up and move forward. I’m listening to my therapist who has encouraged me not to overthink this situation and that everything will fall together when it is supposed to.
~>Shane and I celebrated one year of dating on June 24th. In one sense, I can’t believe it has already been a year but in another sense I feel like I’ve known him and been with him much longer than that. Our relationship is not perfect but, we’re growing and learning together.
Reading Recap: I read 9 out of the 10 books on my June TBR. I actually read 24 books in total which I’m pretty proud of. Live Your Life This Poison Heart I Kissed A Girl Rescue Me The Girl Least Likely Satisfaction Guaranteed Black Dove, White Raven The Unforgettable Hero Black Tie Optional Pug Actually Carry on Warrior. The Maidens. One Last Stop. Broken Horses. Defeating Dementia. All I Ask. Break The Fall. Untamed. The Ex Talk. The Titanic Sisters. Brown Girl Dreaming. Full Circle. Words Composed of Sea and Sky. Miss Peregrine Home for Peculiar Children. Hollow City.
I finished The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt which I enjoyed. I started The Good Place which is hilarious and just so good! Shane and I have continued to watch Eureka which is getting so good! We’re currently almost done with Season 3 and it is just so addictive.
July TBR: If You Come Softly. Christmas in Eternity Springs. An Amish Christmas Quilt. Mr. Miracle. A Mistletoe Christmas. A New York Christmas. Christmas Wishes at the Christmas Shop. The Dating Playbook. The Christmas House. It’s Raining Men. Bombshell. On the Naughty List. Christmas Joy. Christmas at Evergreen Inn. Home for Christmas.
As you can see, I’m doing a little bit of a Christmas in July feature this month. Several of these are books that I owe reviews on Netgalley so this feature will be helpful in catching up on that. I will also be watching the Christmas in July movies on Hallmark. Honestly, this is one of my favorite times of year! I love the mid-year seasonal cheer! I look forward to seeing what July brings all of us.
