Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot Chocolate with marshmallows
Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? When I was younger Santa’s presents were usually unwrapped and in the front of the Christmas tree.
Colored lights on tree/house or white? I usually prefer colored lights but the white ones can be pretty too.
Do you hang mistletoe? No.
When do you hang your decorations up? I usually start decorating shortly after Thanksgiving.
What’s your favorite holiday dish and dessert? Hmm. I really do enjoy green bean casserole. My favorite dessert is pumpkin pie.
Favorite holiday memory as a child? The one that really sticks out for me is from when my uncle and his now ex-wife came home and surprised everyone at Christmas. I was probably seven or eight and had absolutely no idea. I can still remember the feeling of my uncle giving me a huge hug.
What is on your Christmas wishlist this year? My Christmas wishlist this year is so random: Things for the apartment, clothes, books, craft items. I really didn’t have any MUST haves this year. I’m grateful for whatever I receive.
Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? Nope.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree? When I was younger, my parents would hang the lights and then we would decorate the tree with the ornaments my brother and received from my out of state uncle. As I’m the older sibling I had more ornaments and continued to recieve one until I was 18. After these ornaments were done, we’d hang our other ornaments (usually ones we made in school) Then my parents would do all the finishing touches and make sure there were no ornament clumps.
Snow. Love it or dread it? I’m one of those people that wants snow for Christmas. Other wise, it can go away.
Real tree or fake tree? Growing up, we would go to a Christmas tree farm and cut one down. As we got older, we moved onto a fake tree, which is also what I have in my apartment.
Do you remember your favorite gift? It has to be the year we got the super Nintendo. I was so excited for that and spent much time during my youth playing various games.
What’s the most important thing about Christmas to you? Spending time with my family. Especially with everything that has happened over the past two years. It’s important to be with the ones you love when you are able to.
What is your favorite tradition? For me now, it hanging the stockings on the stairwell along with any Christmas cards I receive.
What tops your tree? Right now it’s a star but I have also used an angel before.
Do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving. I love finding the perfect gift and surprising someone with it.
What is your favorite Christmas song? Merry Christmas Happy Holidays!
Candy Canes, yuck or yum? I don’t mind them.
Favorite Christmas movie? Home Alone and Home Alone 2. It doesn’t matter how many times I see them, I still find something new that I didn’t realize before.
What do you leave for Santa? When I was younger we would leave him milk and cookies and put oats and glitter outside for the reindeer.
Do you have a Christmas morning tradition? When I was younger, we always opened our stockings first.
Do you prefer to shop online or at the mall? Lately it’s been online but I do missing finding random things at the mall.
